Blog # 1: What is Research Writing? What does it mean to be a research writer? How are research questions developed?
The article above talks about research writing in the way that people perceive to be. Not everyone find research writing to be their cup of tea, however the article in a sense doesn’t make it seem so bad. The link above talks about research papers as more than just papers full of different sources of information, but rather papers that analyze a given topic. The article goes even further to discuss the different types of research papers: Analytical and Argument of a point. For both types it gives a brief description of how both of them should be done and what each of them entails
In my opinion research writing is having a question about something and answering by doing research about the topic. In some cases however, research writing could also be a form of trying to prove a point by researching it evidence that proves that specific point. A research writer is someone who looks deeper about a topic than most people would in order to find new information to either prove a point or to answer a given question. However I deeply believe that research writers have to be extremely interested in the subject they are researching. If for some reason they are not interested in the subject, the writing would be dull and it might also lack content. I believe that research questions are developed by looking into what motivates the writer, what inspires the writer, or something as simple as what is the writer curious about knowing more about.
My goal on this research class is to develop a research paper that both displays my personality and what I am interested in along with completely explaining my findings as a researcher. I think that the way to achieve my goal would be to leave behind my bad habits of procrastinating. My approach is simply going to be to start researching as much as I can early on in order to get a head start and find out more about my topic. As far as what my interests are, there are many, I just to choose something that other can also find interesting that way others can also learn from my research.
